The app
When is Durma coming out?
Durma is in development and coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. We will announce it on this site the day it launches.
Which devices will it run on?
iPhone with iOS 27, Apple Watch with watchOS 27, Android phones with Android 16 or later, and Wear OS 6 or later watches.
Does Durma cost anything?
Nothing is behind a paywall in the first release, and there are no ads in the app.
Which languages and units does it support?
English and Turkish. Units are metric by default, and you can switch to miles and pounds.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Walks are recorded entirely on your device. If you have an account, they sync on their own once you are back online.
Account and data
Do I need an account?
No. Durma works fully without an account and everything stays on your device. You only need one for syncing between devices, the watch link and challenges. You can sign in with Apple, a passkey or your Google account.
Where is my data stored?
Your walks are stored on your device first and, with your permission, saved to Apple Health or Health Connect. If you create an account, your profile, goals, walk summaries and routes are kept on our servers so they can sync. The details are in the privacy policy.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export everything as a single JSON file from the Profile screen.
How do I delete my account?
Delete it from the Profile screen in the app; this permanently removes all of your data from our servers. If you can’t get into the app, you can ask by email instead. The steps are on the account deletion page.
Can other people see my routes?
No. Your routes are private. In a challenge, your friends see only your display name and your challenge number, such as your steps.
Steps and measurements
Will my phone and watch steps be counted twice?
No. Daily steps come from Apple Health or Health Connect, which remove duplicates when they merge steps from your phone and your watch.
How does Durma know I’m walking briskly?
From your steps per minute (cadence). For adults aged 21 to 60, 100 steps a minute is the accepted threshold for moderate intensity, and targets adjust to your age. More in the brisk walking guide.
How is my daily step goal set?
Durma suggests a starting goal based on your age, and it can adapt as you walk if you turn that on. You can always change it yourself. Why those numbers? See the steps per day guide.
How do streak freezes work?
Walk consistently and you earn streak freezes. On a day you miss your goal, a freeze is used and your streak stays intact.
My walk stopped halfway on Android. Why?
Some phone makers aggressively close apps running in the background. If a walk ends unexpectedly, Durma shows settings advice specific to your phone’s brand.
